IRS and PA Extend 2020 tax filing deadline to May 17, 2021

IRS and Pennsylvania have recently announced an extension to the 2020 Individual Income Tax Filing Deadline from April 15, 2021 to May 17, 2021.  While this extends the deadline for the 2020 individual income tax returns, the first quarter estimates for 2021 are still due on April 15, 2021.  There has not been any automatic extension to May 15, 2021 for any other return or estimated tax payment due on April 15, 2021.

Many other states have followed the IRS lead and extended their own due dates as well.  This is a fluid situation with states changing on the fly.  We will keep you posted as states make decisions.
